For nearly three decades, Strike has wowed audiences across the globe with explosive performances, world-class musicianship, and boundary-pushing creativity. From international festivals Shanghai to concert halls in Paris, from the Sydney Olympics to the Rugby World Cup, and in school halls and theatre stages throughout New Zealand and Australia, Strike has mesmerised audiences with bold, physical percussion performances that combine rhythm, movement, and theatrical energy.
Strike is led by founder Murray Hickman and wife Katie, and joined by a new generation of extraordinary performers. After decades of international touring and large-scale productions, Strike has entered a new chapter—focused on delivering high-impact performances and education programmes across New Zealand and expanding into Australia. Strike continues to tour extensively, reaching thousands of students each year while developing new work and embracing the next generation of performers.

Strike’s renowned schools programme brings world-class percussion to students of all ages—combining exhilarating, high-energy live performance, with interactive learning and hands-on workshops, designed to engage, inspire, and leave a lasting impact.
To celebrate our 30th Anniversary, in 2027 the group will be performing a brand new show throughout New Zealand schools in Term’s 1 & 4 - and in Term’s 2 & 3 Strike are thrilled to be making their long awaited return to the Australian schools circuit!

2027 will also see the launch of the Strike digital learning platform, offering a range of comprehensive teacher resource packs with curriculum-linked lesson plans supported by time coded videos, worksheets, and extension activities - all developed to align with the Music strand of the newly released 2027/2029 Arts curriculum.

Strike To Schools concert - a 60 minute standalone concert performance
- A Day With Strike - An optional add-on when booking a Strike To Schools concert. Receive up to 7 Strike Drumming Workshops in addition to the concert. Workshop capacity of up to 36 students. Workshop durations range from 20-60min.
